Senior Audit Accountant

Primary Responsibilities

• Perform most engagements with little supervision; including but not limited to complex, professional level accounting and auditing work

• Prepare financial reports in accordance with GAAP
• Plan, coordinate, and supervise the various phases of an audit engagement from start to finish
• Communicate assigned tasks to engagement team in a manner that is clear and concise, ensuring high quality, accurate, and efficient results
• Ensure adherence at all times to all applicable professional standards
•  Identify and communicate potential or existing issues, recommend the most appropriate solution
• Ensure audit conclusions are based on complete understanding of the process, circumstances, and risk
• Develop audit programs and testing procedures relevant to risk and test objectives
• Obtain and review evidence ensuring audit conclusions are well-documented
• Know and understand the firm's policies and procedures
• Possess technical knowledge sufficient to advise staff accountants
• Develop quality client relationships and loyalty

 

Job Qualifications

• Must have 2 – 5 years’ experience in A&A at a CPA firm

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Economics
• Possess a CPA license or currently pursuing a CPA license

Senior Accountant

Primary Responsibilities

• Exposure to a diverse mix of tax, accounting, auditing and business advisory projects

• Assume responsibility for the supervision of tax return preparation engagements

• Plan, coordinate, and supervise the various phases of an audit engagement

• Participate in identifying client issues and communicating with clients and financial managers in areas including tax planning, consulting and client tax advocacy

• Perform most engagements with little supervision; including but not limited to complex, professional level accounting and auditing work

• Ensure adherence at all times to all applicable professional standards

• Prepare financial reports in accordance with GAAP

• Develop a command of pertinent IRC sections and regulations

• Conduct tax, accounting, and auditing research

• Possess a working knowledge of firm technology, including the use of Microsoft Office Suite and Prosystem fx

• Develop quality client relationships and loyalty

 

Job Qualifications

• 2-5 years of experience as a Staff Accountant (Experience must be in public accounting.)

• Must possess strong technical knowledge of accounting, auditing, individual, corporate, and partnership tax preparation and compliance

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or related

• Possess a CPA license, or currently pursing CPA licensure

• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal

• Exceptional interpersonal skills, a natural leader and facilitator

• Excellent problem solving and analytical skills

• Proficiency with technology, including MS Excel

• Strong organization and follow up skills, including the ability to handle competing priorities and meet deadlines

• Ability to adapt and flourish in a fast-paced, complex environment
• Ability to observe and understand business processes ensuring complete and accurate documentation
• Ability to give and follow instructions accurately and efficiently

 

Staff Accountant

Primary Responsibilities

• Basic Federal and state individual and business tax return preparation

• Financial audit assistance - transaction and internal control testing, confirmation control

• Accounting and tax workpaper documentation

• Participate in identifying client issues and communicating with clients and financial managers in areas including tax planning, consulting and client tax advocacy

• Maintain strong written and oral presentation skills and technological abilities

• Conduct research on various client issue

• Financial analysis and financial statement preparation

• Preparation of state and local Personal Property Tax Returns

• Transaction analysis and data entry using QuickBooks© software

• Bank account reconciliation

• Sales and payroll tax return preparation

• W-2 and 1099 preparation

 

Job Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics or related degree preferred

• Qualified to sit for the uniform CPA exam

• Understanding of Federal and state tax law

• Leadership and organizational skills

• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal

• Problem solving and analytical skills

• Proficient use of technology, including MS Excel

• Dedication to continuous improvement and professional development

• Ability to give and follow instructions accurately and efficiently

 

Senior Consultant (Rockville)

The ideal candidate will have 5-10 years of experience in business, technology, or systems consulting. The Senior Consultant will serve our clients as a trusted business advisor, specialized in implementing accounting software, improving workflow processes, working closely with IT, and providing internal control.

We are looking for an experienced tax preparer to work with our firm from February through April 2018.
 
Primary Responsibilities
• Assume responsibility for federal and state tax return preparation for the families of entrepreneurs, business owners, high wealth individuals and others with complex tax situations
• Identify client issues and communicate with clients and financial managers in areas including tax planning, consulting and client tax advocacy
• Perform most engagements with minimal supervision
• Develop quality client relationships and loyalty
• Maintain a command of pertinent IRC sections and regulations
• Perform tax research including knowledge of the reference sources available to the firm
 
Job Qualifications
• Minimum of five years comparable experience in tax return preparation
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Economics
• Excellent interpersonal, team and communication skills
• Ability to observe and understand business processes, ensuring complete and accurate documentation
• Possess a working knowledge of firm technology, including Microsoft Office Suite and tax preparation software
• Demonstrate a positive, can-do attitude
